Yay Us! Celebrating National Hospital Week, May 11-17

healthcare profession with arms crossed

National Hospital Week (May 11-17) recognizes the contributions of hospitals, health systems, and healthcare providers to our nation’s healthcare system. The recognition week was established by the American Hospital Association (AHA) more than a century ago, in 1921, to celebrate Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

Today, the commemoration celebrates the incredible quality and volume of care American hospitals provide annually. The AHA estimates that each year America’s 6,000 hospitals and health systems deliver 3.5 million babies, care for 34 million people admitted to hospitals, employ 6.3 million people, and provide emergency care to more than 120 million people.

Ennis Regional Medical Center is proud to contribute to those statistics and to an industry that continues to evolve to best serve the health needs of this country. In 2024, our Emergency Room alone saw more than 15,000 patients. Each year, our efforts make a positive impact on the Bluebonnet City and surrounding areas.

Congratulations and thank you to hospitals everywhere, but especially to the team that makes Ennis Regional a provider of choice for area residents. And while we are giving ourselves a pat on the back, we would also like to express our gratitude to the patients and communities that support us ‒ we couldn’t do what we do without your trust and confidence in our care.
